The Crowd At Chitra Santhe

A Curated Guide To Bangalore’s Largest Art Fair Chitra Santhe

Design Log 12 Jan

India’s biggest art fair Chitra Santhe, organized by Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, recently concluded its 15th edition on the first Sunday of 2018. One among the 4 lakh excited Bangaloreans who thronged the long stretch of Kumara Krupa Road, Design Fabric took to the streets to spend the day admiring, purchasing and most of all celebrating Indian art.

There was art across every medium, style and price range imaginable. With over 1500 artists and craftsmen from different parts of the country displaying their work at the day-long mega event, there was literally something for every aesthetic imaginable.

While some festivals claim to make art accessible to all, Chitra Santhe does so with much aplomb and revelry. Sure, there is room for mediocrity when you bring 1500 artists together on one road. Still, it was nothing short of extraordinary to see art as far as the eyes can see! And if you looked close enough, there were gems hidden in every corner.

Design Fabric ended up spending nearly four hours there, and handpicked their favourite artworks from the thousands to share with our readers.
